Obituary for Carol Joy Lee
Carol Joy Lee (McBride, Lovseth, Powell, Stine) was joyfully accepted into Jesus' arms on September 2nd, 2023. Carol was born in Billings, MT on Feb 17, 1945 to Glenn and Louise (Johnson, Snyder) McBride. After high school, she moved to Great Falls and worked almost 20 years for Blue Cross. When she married Ted Powell in 1978, they moved to Big Timber where they built two beautiful homes together up the Boulder River. Their door was always open and had many visitors. They often traveled from Montana to Georgia visiting family and friends. Carol was an accomplished seamstress and could be found manning her table and making new friends at various craft fairs around Montana. A good card game, bingo and dancing were some of her favorite things.
Carol wasn't able to have children of her own but she was lucky to marry into already made families. Carol is survived by granddaughter Amber (Zach) Niebaum who for several years has been her loving caregivers, her niece Kim (David) Cook, brother Larry McBride (Julie Bowden), step-daughters Theda (Zane) Shaulis, Julianne Ankrum, Chu Lee, step-sons Ted Powell, Davey (Mildred) Stine, and grandchildren Frank (Jackie) Durham, Crystal (Tony) Estep, Shay (Keshia) Shaulis, Shanrae Powell, Corey Powell, Timothy (Jihye) Lee, Esther (Ryan) Madison, Shelby Ankrum and Kelsey Ankrum.
She also has 13 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by husbands Dave Lovseth, Ted Powell, and Julian "Pete" Lee, parents Glenn McBride, Louise and Howard Snyder, brother Leroy McBride, step-children Linda Durham, Lisa Powell, Tim Lee, Sheri Lee, and grandchild Michael Young.
Carol simply loved, loved us all. She had such a gentle soul and a big heart. The ache of missing Carol will dim, though our love will never die. We’ll meet again on down the road; so long for now but not goodbye.
