Obituary for Cody Julian Mack, Jr.
Cody J. Mack, Jr., 43, of Billings passed away Thursday October 23, 2014 at his home. Cody was born July 21, 1971 to Cody and Violet Mack in Anchorage, Alaska. He grew up in Kenai, surrounded by the beauty of the Alaskan outdoors. His family was avid fisherman and hunters, instilling in him a love for the great outdoors; he would later share this with his son Calvin, taking him on many fishing adventures. In school, Cody excelled in sports, especially football. He later discovered basketball and would spend hours shooting hoops, always including his children. He moved with his dad to Montana, his senior year, and graduated from Bridger High School in 1989. On June 25, 1995 he married Stacy Stringari and they made their home in Billings, they later divorced. To this union, four children were born; Calvin "Mighty Might", Cassidy "Babes", Andrew "Sonny Boy" and Avery "Mighty Jane Brain" as he lovingly used to call all of them. He especially enjoyed all of their activities and being their number 1 fan. He would play the guitar and spend hours singing to them, making up songs and letting them strum along with him. He recently became a grandpa when Marlee was born to Calvin. Cody was a salesman at heart. Throughout his career he worked at Montgomery Ward, Radio Shack, Conlin's, and Century 21. He was a people person and loved the thrill of the sale. Cody could turn words into poetry, whether it was a song or a story. He loved music and singing and many hours were spent pursuing this passion and sharing it with his children. He has left a deep void in the lives of his children, family and friends and they will miss him deeply. Cody was preceded in death by father Cody Mack, Sr., and his sister Brenda Gregorie. He is survived by his children; Calvin, Cassidy, Andrew and Avery, granddaughter Marlee, his mother Violet, brothers; Larry Jones, Roland Jones, Alfred Jones, Terry Murphy and his sister DeAnna. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
