Obituary for David Justin Todd
David Justin Todd was born in Big Timber on December 31st, 1963 to Donald “Sonny” Todd and Rosalie Myers Todd. Justin attended school in Big Timber, graduating from SGHS in 1982. While attending college at MSU Bozeman, he played football for his beloved Bobcats and graduated in 1987 with a BS in Ag Business and a minor in Computer Science.
In 1986 he married Vonda Pearce, his high school sweetheart, and they lived in many places over the following years.
He began his career at Farmer’s Home Administration before joining his brother, Stetson, in the car business. While in Bozeman they owned Stetson Automotive and during this time his “amazing” (as he would say) son, Collin, was born in 1992. Later the family moved to Powell, WY where the brothers owned and operated Justin Ford and Chrysler. During their years in Powell, his “little ray of sunshine”, daughter, Brittany (Britt) arrived in 1995.
The family then moved to Butte, where he and Vonda opened Justin Dodge. After leaving the car business and living in Boise and Bozeman, his family settled back in Big Timber where he joined his Dad in the real estate business.
Justin was heavily involved in the community of Big Timber, which he so loved. He supported and belonged to many organizations, including MT Cowboy Hall of Fame, Herder Booster Club, Big Timber Chamber of Commerce and Sweet Grass Recreation Association.
Due to a terminal illness he was taken from his family and friends too soon, even while telling everyone he was “FANTASTIC!”
Justin loved his children more than anything in the world, and was a wonderful Dad. He was so very proud of Collin, Britt, and his new daughter-in-law, Syndal, and all of their accomplishments. He will be forever looking down and loving them always.
Justin is survived by his wife, Vonda; son, Collin (Syndal); daughter, Britt; Brother, Rick of Red Lodge (Linda of Fromberg); their sons, Colter (Kendra), Garrett (Jaclyn) and son Brett; sister, Nikki (Art) Perry; her children, Beau (Brittney) Blaylock and their daughter Madison; Ashley Blaylock; sister-in-law, Donna; her sons, Logan (Jessica) and Dillon; mother and father-in-law, Dick (Eileen) Pearce; Brother-in-law, Kevin (Tracey) Pearce; their son Sterling, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Justin was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny Todd, Rosalie Todd, and brother, Stetson Todd.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2pm at the Civic Center in Big Timber. Reception to follow at the American Legion.
