We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Della was born May 11th, 1940 in Jordan, Montana, and grew up in the Flint Creek Valley, with her two sisters Dolly and Penny and brother Vern, attending Hall Elementary school and graduating High School in Drummond. She was raised by her mother, Lillian Meakins and step-father George Meakins.
She married Lawrence Jones in December 1968 and they raised two sons, Rance (Fairbanks, AK) and Jeff (Big Timber). Della loved learning God’s word and studying the Bible. She loved her family and her pets, while finding ways to express her artistic talent through oil painting and hand crafts. In 1988, Della and Lawrence moved to Republic, Washington for new employment opportunities, and moved back to Montana in 1999, settling down in Big Timber to be closer to family. Della will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Della is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence; sons Rance (grandson James, great granddaughter Willow), Jeff (wife Cara, grandsons Garrett (wife Emilee) and Colton), sister Dolly (John) Asteltine, sister Penny (Dan) Struckman and brother Vern (Char) Meakins, as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces.
