Obituary for George Lien
George Lien, 94, of Springdale, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 of a cardiac event leading to a machinery accident on his ranch in Springdale, Montana. George was born on February 21, 1922 to Anton and Bertha (Eik) Lien in Big Timber.
George dedicated his life to ranching, first on Big Timber Creek, and later bought his own ranch in Springdale, where he raised cattle and sheep. He had a love and passion for range management, livestock and wild life. He was very much active in ranch life until he passed.
Those who knew George would describe him as an honest, fair and hardworking man. His success and values live on in numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last of the Liens, preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Bertha, eight sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 18th at the Big Timber Lutheran Church, with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
