Obituary for Jennifer Lynn Boshart
Big Timber lost a gem Monday, June 6 when Jennifer Lynn Boshart passed away in her family's loving arms at the Pioneer Medical Center. Known for her quirky style and radiant smile, Jennifer was called the 'fancy lady' by children at Big Timber Grade School where she was a substitute teacher. She loved kids of all ages and was honored to work with them. At times she forgot where she left her car keys but she never forgot a child's name and always had time for a hug. Once she wore a long, pink chiffon l950s prom dress to school because she thought the kids might enjoy it. They loved it, along with her Army boots.
Jennifer was born on June 14, l972 in Missoula, MT to Linda and Dennis Hardt. She attended Missoula schools and graduated from Hellgate High School in 1990. In l991 Jennifer was critically injured while a passenger in a rollover accident north of Deer Lodge. Her major injuries affected her health throughout her adult life.
Later, Jennifer enrolled at the University of Montana and worked part time at Albertson's where she met her future husband, Aaron. They married in August, 1997 and lived in Missoula until Aaron graduated from the university. They then moved to Big Timber in July, l999 to manage the family owned Big T IGA grocery store. Three weeks after arriving, the couple welcomed their son, Dennis Eric. Five years later they were blessed with daughter, Alyssa Cathryn.
Jennifer devoted her life to her family, encouraging Dennis and Alyssa to strive for success but reminding them to always remain kind and respectful. She never let Aaron or the kids leave the house without telling them she loved them. She always said her family filled her heart.
Besides substituting at school, Jennifer worked alongside Aaron at the Big T wherever needed, counting tills, stocking bread or frying chicken in the deli. In her spare time she enjoyed decorating her home, attending auctions and hiking up airport hill with her big white dog Emma. Over the years she volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, taught Religious Education to kindergarten children at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and helped with many school projects.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Aaron, children Dennis and Alyssa; her mother Linda Ochsner; brother Brett Hardt; mother-in-law Kathryn Boshart; brother-in-law Nathan Boshart and his wife, Cassie, and daughters Erika and Natalee.
She was preceded in death by her father Dennis Hardt; father-in-law Eric Boshart; grandparents Oliver and Florence Hardt, and Stan and Dolores Schultz.
