Obituary for Lila A. Letz
Lila A. Sciuchetti Letz, 81, passed peacefully in her sleep to be with her heavenly father on August 28, 2015 in Big Timber, Montana. She was born in Lewistown, Montana to John B. and Antoinette "Neddy" (Wipfli) Sciuchetti on July 19, 1934. Lila grew up on the family farm outside of Lewistown working hard and helping to raise her four younger siblings--June, Joe, John and Bill. Lila moved to Bozeman in 1956 where she raised her own family of three daughters, Annette, Gail and Nancy. She worked in various kitchens and cafeterias' making sure everyone was well-fed and content. She did her best to insure the facilities were spotless after everyone enjoyed themselves. Lila met the love of her life, Rick Letz, and remarried on November 11, 1983. In 1989, they moved to Big Timber where she was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Club. She and Rick could often be found at the Legion, helping out with a variety of tasks. Lila cherished her time spent with family and friends. She devoted much of her energy hosting them, as her house was a crossroads for those traveling throughout the state. Her doors were always open to family and friends, and she made sure that no one would go hungry during their stay or journey. Lila always enjoyed her lunch and Sunday brunch outings with her dear friend Ellen Yost and an occasional game of Keno. Lila enjoyed celebrating her 80th birthday last year--surrounded by her family and friends who traveled from near and far--and held her great granddaughter for the first time. Lila has touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Annette Schoessler, and her brother Joe Sciuchetti. Lila is survived by her husband, Rick Letz; daughters, Nancy Herndon and Gail Forsberg; brothers, John (Sharon) Sciuchetti and Bill (Vicki) Sciuchetti; sister, June (Harold) Donaldson; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jeanine) Schoessler, Codi (Nick) Wormgoor and baby Wormgoor due in January, Amber (Justin) Crossno, Tanner Herndon, and great granddaughter, Shyler Crossno, and several nieces and nephews.
