Obituary for Lillian Duncan
Lillian Erna Duncan of Big Timber passed away July 19, 2021 at home with her loving husband and family at her side at the age of 91.

She was born October 30, 1929 to Ralph and Lillian (Benson) Rink and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She married the love of her life Norman H. Duncan on October 16, 1948. They had four children, Bruce (Mariann) Duncan of Big Timber; Randy (Bonnie) Duncan of Elgin; IL; Ross (Cyndi) Duncan of Belvidere, IL; and Colleen (Karl) Conner of Big Timber.

She worked at and retired from the Schaumburg Township District Library in Schaumburg, IL with 20 years of service to the community. Norman and Lillian built their home in 1961 in Schaumburg, IL and remained there until 2010 when they moved to Big Timber because they love Montana. Lil was actively involved with the choir as a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg and then at the Big Timber Lutheran Church in Big Timber.

Lillian lived a life marked by compassion, a deep love for the people around her no matter their circumstances. She was always ready to sit and visit, wanting just to be with the people she loved. There was never a shortage of M&Ms or dog treats when Lillian was around, which was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to her generous spirit. She was thoughtful and kind and will live on always in the hearts of those who love her.

She is survived by her husband Norman, their four children, eleven grandchildren - Buck Duncan, Levi Duncan, Kelly Duncan, Greg (Gina) Duncan, Corey Duncan, Brendan Duncan, Brittney (Eric) Schoen, KatieLynn Sutterlin, James (Lindsey Erin) Ellis, Justin Ellis and Kenny Conner. She also has seven great grandchildren, Dalas & Trinity Duncan; Joshua, Christopher, Lucille (Lucy) and Charlotte (Charley) Ellis; Adriella Ellis and one great great granddaughter Avia.

She is also survived by her brother Ralph (Mij) Rink of Elk Grove Village, IL; her nephews Keith (LeAnne) Rink of Downers Grove, IL and Stephen (Jeannie) Rink of Naples, FL.

Services will be held at the Big Timber Lutheran Church on Saturday July 24th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be given in her memory to Big Timber Lutheran Church, PO Box 278, Big Timber MT 59011 or Hearts & Hands Hospice, PO Box 1337, Big Timber, MT 59011.
