Obituary for Loren Francis Brewer
Loren Francis Brewer 91, passed away at the Pioneer Medical Center on March 16th surrounded by loved ones.
Loren was born in Camp Crook, South Dakota, December 22nd 1927. He was the son of Harry and Mabel Brewer. The family moved to Montana when Loren was 9 years old. He spent most of his childhood on their ranch on the West Boulder raising cattle and horses.
Loren married Suzanne Senter in 1946. Together they had two children Linda and Larry. They lived on the West Boulder Ranch where he helped his dad with the livestock along with the sawmill they operated on the ranch. Later he and Suzanne divorced.
Loren married Jessie Higgins in 1961. Together they started their own trucking business. In the mid 80’s he and Jessie moved to Arizona. During their time in AZ, Loren became the part owner and operator of Turquoise Valley Golf Course. Jessie passed away in 1995.
In 1996 Loren married Betty Juhnke. They spent 22 wonderful years together. Every summer they brought their motorhome and horses up to Montana from Arizona. Loren and Betty enjoyed their summers in Montana and time with family. In 2017, due to health problems, they made their permanent home in the Shields Valley.
Loren was a true cowboy. He competed in rodeos starting at the age of 10. Calf Roping and Saddle Bronc were his events but in later years it was Team Roping that really took hold. He traveled all over the country competing. In later years he enjoyed golf and a good game of cribbage or pitch. But one thing never changed and that was his LOVE of horses. He had many great ones and he had an unmeasurable bond with them all.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents, his half-brother Roland, former wife Jessie & and step son Warren White.
He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Linda (Tom) Larson, son Larry (Kelli) Brewer of Big Timber, step children Debbie (Brad) Palmer of Livingston, Ron (June) Juhnke of Boise, ID and Larry (Barb) Juhnke of Bend, OR.
