Obituary for Lorn Pudwill
Lorn was born the eldest son of John and Emma (Fischer) Pudwill in Troy, ID on August 24th, 1928. Shortly after his birth his parents moved to South Dakota where Lorn’s siblings Don, Ardella, Catherine, and Shirley were born. Lorn would become an orphan at the age of 16 after the passing of his father, his mother having passed several years prior. This would lead to Lorn Hitchhiking back to Troy where his uncle lived with the intent of joining the Navy. He was picked up by John Madill of Big Timber however and was offered a job milking cows. It was in Big Timber where he would meet Anna who he wound up marrying in 1955.

Lorn Joined the Marines in 1952 and served in the Korean War as a wireman with the Corps until December of 1953. After returning from Korea he would go on to work as a ranch hand at the Lion’s Head ranch up the West Boulder until he and Anna moved back to Minneapolis in 1958. While living in Minneapolis Lorn attended the Dunwoody Institute and learned to become a carpenter, a trade that he would practice both for work and as a hobby all around Sweet Grass county and Montana until shortly before his death.

Lorn loved to fish and hunt. Deer, elk, antelope, geese, and especially coyotes were all fair game. He also instilled in his nieces and nephews a great love for the outdoors and all the challenges of both hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by His father John, mother Emma, his sisters Ardella Kightlinger of Mound City SD and Catherine Thompson of Big Timber, MT.

Lorn is survived by his wife of 62 years Anna (Thompson) Pudwill and his brother Don Pudwill of St. Petersburg, FL along with many nieces and nephews.
