Obituary for Marian L. Bainter
Marian Louise Bainter, age 76, of Big Timber passed away January 16, 2017, at Livingston Health and Rehab Center, where she has lived for the past two years.
Marian was born September 14, 1940 to Vernon and Edna (Fairburn) Fricke in Billings and raised in Worden , graduating from Huntley Project High School. She married Donald Bainter on June 21, 1958 and lived North of Greycliff, Montana and ranched on the Lower Sweet Grass till Don passed away in 1986. She continued ranching with her son Sage until she married Terrill Tollefson in 1992. They were later divorced.
Marian enjoyed quilting with her friends (and couldn’t pass up a yard of material). She also enjoyed cooking and visiting and entertaining guests and helping others (with teasing and laughter involved), and traveling. She was known for “Marianizing” everything from quilting to recipes to her health care. She had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her son Sage (Cindy) of Greycliff, grandchildren; Becki (Tyson) Gregorich, Jeff Hirsch, and Donald Bainter, and great-grandson Tanner Gregorich. Her sisters; Jean Crawford of San Diego and Carol (Karl ) Unverzagt of Lingle, WY, Brothers; Bill (Leann) Fricke of Belle Fourche, SD and Dan (Jeanine) Fricke of Lake Benton, MN, and her friend Pat Latraverse who took wonderful care of our sister.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her parents, and her brother Don.
Her family would like to thank the Livingston Health and Rehab Center and Hospice and her doctors for the excellent care and friendship, she had while living there.
