Obituary for Maxine Alice Hanson Tronrud
Maxine Alice Hanson Tronrud, 86, of Melville went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Maxine was born January 27, 1928 in Big Timber, Montana the daughter of Herman and Adeline (Weamer) Hanson. They lived and helped work the ranch on lower Sweet Grass with Herman's parents, Bud and Josie Hanson. When Maxine was 11 months old her father, Herman Hanson, died of pneumonia. Maxine and her mother, Adeline, continued to live with Herman's parents, Bud and Josie Hanson for the next 4 years. In September of 1932, Adeline married Borddie Green who lovingly raised Maxine as his own. Maxine spent much of her growing up years with her grandmother, Josie Hanson, and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in 1945. On May 21, 1945, Maxine married the love of her life, Victor Tronrud Jr. They lived and worked the ranch north of Melville with his parents, Victor Sr. and Loretta Tronrud. Maxine and Vicky had three children, Pat , Cheryle and Duane who feel truly blessed to have had them as their parents and to have grown up on the ranch on the Sweet Grass. Maxine and Victor had been married 64 years when he passed away in January of 2010. Maxine loved being a rancher's wife and living in the Melville community. She was a member of the Melville Lutheran Church which was very special to her. She especially enjoyed making the quilts each fall and participating in church activities. Maxine loved her family, her beloved husband, Vicky, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I know the grandchildren and great-grandchildren have very special memories of time spent at the ranch with grandma and grandpa. Maxine liked to travel and especially enjoyed visiting her daughter, Pat, and son-in-law, Bob Aumaugher in Nevada and Minnesota in the last few years. Maxine will always be remembered for her generous hospitality, her wonderful cooking and her beautiful sewing and knitting. When you saw her little blue car coming to your home, you knew she wanted to come visit awhile and probable had something homemade to share with you. She was always willing to share her talents with anyone who wanted to learn. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Hanson and Adeline and Borddie Green, her beloved husband, Victor Jr. and sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Bizz) Green. Maxine is survived by two brothers; Ben Green of Big Timber and John (Carolyn) Green of Melville, her three children; Patricia (Bob) Aumaugher of Clitherall, Minn., Cheryle (Alex) Bryce of Livingston and Duane (Diane) Tronrud of Melville, six grandchildren; Scott (Theresa) Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., Debbie (Jon) Stineford of Missoula, Bill Bryce of Livingston, Chris (Elkie) Bryce of Helena, Shane (Catherine) Tronrud of Melville and Mindy (Keith) Evans of Fort Benton, and nine great-grandchildren; Beverly and Devon Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., Sean and Connor Stineford of Missoula, Brigitt Bryce of Helena, Adelyn and Nash Tronrud of Melville and Cody and Brett Evans of Fort Benton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
