Obituary for Oswald 'Ozzie' 'Butch' Nevin
Ozzie Nevin, 77, of Big Timber passed away surrounded by his family on February 2, 2015 at the Billings Clinic. Ozzie graduated from Sweet Grass County High School, and worked with his father in his gas station which provided a place for Ozzie to engage in his passion of working on cool cars. He married Charlotte Woods and moved to Columbus where they started their family and lived for seven years. His children continued to be the joy of his life. The family moved to Seattle, Washington, where he stayed until his retirement in 1996. Ozzie then returned to his beloved Montana where he met his life partner, Joetta Strand, who remained with him for the next 18 years. They built his dream log home in the Tobacco Root Mountains where they explored the mountains riding 4 wheelers with dear friends. Their 4th of July parties were a delight for miles around. Their happy life was surrounded by wonderful people, antique toys and many trips. Ozzie loved to visit, go to shows to sell and buy his treasures. Ozzie is survived by his life partner, Joetta Strand, daughters; Christy (Albert) Malgarin and Carrie Nevin, son Kent (Lisa) Nevin, daughter-in-law Caulene Nevin, grandchildren; Courtney (Ann) Malgarin, Jarrod (Shaun) Malgerin, Lacy (Shawn) Conn , Sasha, Jacquline, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Madison and Sydney, 10 great- grandchildren and Joetta's children, sisters; Sharon Mosness, Marilyn (Daryl) Blumhagen and his brother Robert (Barbara) Nevin. Ozzie was preceded in death by his parents Oswald and Nettie Nevin, his sister Ellen Jenicek and his son Kurt Nevin. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his wonderful life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 21st at Stenberg Funeral Home in Big Timber. A gathering will follow at the Big Timber American Legion.
