Obituary for Quentin Indreland
Quentin Indreland passed away April 14, 2014 at Wheatland Memorial Hospital in Harlowton, Montana. Quentin was born on September 5, 1925. If you asked Quentin where he was born, his response was, " I was born in the South East _ of Section 26, Township 7 North, Range 10 East in Meagher County." It was then known as the Lebo community, southwest of Martinsdale. He was the last living child of Rasmus E. and Inger Taletta Brekke Varvick Indreland's eleven children. Quentin attended the schools at Lebo, Living Springs, and Swimming Woman and graduated from the eighth grade at age 12. Quentin joined the United States Marine Corps on April 14, 1944 and was honorably discharged on May 25, 1946. He was awarded a purple heart. He never told many of this honor nor spoke very much of his military service, mostly of the friendships he made during that time. Quentin married Marjorie Ann Ginther on May 15, 1954. In 1967, they moved to the ranch north of Big Timber, where Quentin resided until shortly before his death. Quentin is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Marjorie, son Neal (Sally) of Big Timber, daughter Jane Johnson of Brady, son Roger (Betsy) of Big Timber, grandchildren Gregory (Kelsi) Indreland, Kari (Rocky) Cosgriff, Anne (Schyler Tomlinson) and Kate Indreland and great granddaughter Dally Cosgriff. Quentin loved to dance and visit and always made friends wherever he went.
