Obituary for Robert James 'Bob' O'Connell
Robert James ‘Bob’ O’Connell, 92, of Big Timber passed away Tuesday December 18, 2018 at Bridger Health and Rehabilitation in Bozeman.
Bob, will truly be missed by many friends and family. He was definitely known as a storyteller and prankster. He was a Navy Veteran, serving during World War II.
Bob was a ranch hand most of his life, working for several ranches on the Boulder River for many of those years.
Bob’s first marriage was to Alice Witherup, they had four children, Mary Alice Light, Daniel O’Connell, Kathleen Dailey and John (Mary Catherine) O’Connell.
Bob is survived by his second wife Sheila Purcell, son Layne (Heather) O’Connell, sisters; Mary Romasko and Margaret Sloan, Grandchildren; Jason Dailey, Tiffany Gonzales, Lorraine (Rainy) Lizarraga and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother Gladys Emery, father John O’Connell and his siblings Kathleen, Clifton, Francis O’Connell and Bert Emery.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday December 29, 2018 at Stenberg Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
