Obituary for Ruth Eschenko
Ruth Eschenko, 88, of Big Timber passed away Friday February 10, 2017 at Spring Creek Inn in Bozeman.
Ruth Alexenko Eschenko was born on the family farm north of Grassy Butte, ND, on January 5, 1928, to Prince and Tena Alexenko.
Ruth was the oldest of seven children; she also had two older step-brothers and five older step-sisters.
Ruth married Fred Eschenko on November 8, 1948, in a double wedding with her sister and Fred’s brother. They lived on a farm west of Grassy Butte until they moved to Big Timber, MT, in May 1962, where they raised their six children. Ruth milked many cows as well as raised a big garden.
Ruth loved her family and children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved baking, canning, and sewing.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, two step-brothers and five step-sisters, three sisters, one brother, daughter Sandi Stevens and granddaughter Brandi Kimble. She is survived by her children; Glenn (Carol) Eschenko and Louise (Bruce) Richert of Big Timber, MT, Noreen (Jim) Click of Worden, MT, Lynn (Susan) Eschenko of Livingston, MT and Lynda (Chris) Schatz of Worland, WY; six grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
