Obituary for Sandra Lynn 'Sandy' Hudecek Nelson
Sandra Lynn Hudecek Nelson, age 55, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly February 2, from a brain aneurism. She was born September 28, 1963 to James Edward Hudecek and Jacquelyn Jean Svoboda Hudecek in Livingston, Montana. Sandy attended grade school in a one-room school house in Springdale, Montana, graduated from Park High School in Livingston (class of 1981) and attended Carol College in Helena.

Sandy’s first marriage to E.J. Bowlds took her to the Seattle area for many years but her heart belonged in Montana where she returned in 2011 to care for her father. As fate would have it, she was reacquainted with her after high school sweetheart, Roger Nelson, whom she married in 2013. With big plans of a long life ahead, they were deeply in love and ready to tackle life together as partners and best friends.

Selflessly, Sandy dedicated her time to caring for others in her work and personal life. Having no children of her own, she took the role of aunt and grandma very serious. All her nieces, nephews and grandchildren loved her greatly. She lived with her heart on her sleeve, ready to share her love with anyone who would accept it. Even in death, she continues to give as an organ donor and has blessed many awaiting families with the gift of a second chance.

Sandy and Roger recently moved to Springdale, Montana to care for her mother. At the time of her death, Sandy was employed as a supervisor for AdvoCare of Bozeman caring for the sick and elderly. Her every waking hour was spent taking care of someone. Her death leaves many holes and undone tasks and her loss will be felt far and wide.

Sandy meets her father, James Hudecek in death. She is survived by her husband, Roger Nelson, her mother Jackie Hudecek, her brother, Tony (Bonnie) Hudecek of Absarokee and her sister Jill (Dave) Kraus of Livingston. Her stepdaughters Sandra Gains, Sarah (Tyler, Luna, Lachlan, Remington and baby) Bennett and Caitlin (Kyuss and Kennedy) Nelson. Her nieces and nephews include Dana (Tim) Pratt, Michelle (Geoff) Herzog, Becky (Brad) Fitch, Kim (Richard) Vindiola, Katie Holybee, Chris (Dan) Williams, Ed Raihl, Amanda Raihl and numerous grandnieces and nephews. We will all miss you greatly, Sandy. Thank you for sharing your heart with every single one of us.
