Obituary for Sawyer Patrick Ott
Sawyer Patrick Ott was embraced by all his angels as he entered heaven on February 27, 2021.

Sawyer stubbornly made his way into this life on February 17, 2019. In his two beautiful years he brought so much light, love and happiness to his parent’s lives. He always was able to keep them on their toes due to his strong and sometimes very independent personality.

Sawyer loved working on anything his Daddy was busy with. He always knew when it was time to run and get his boots on, so he was ready to go. Half the time he would not care about putting his pants on for the trip, he just did not want to miss the adventure. He loved to follow around his Mommy anywhere she would go. They loved watching movies cuddled up on the couch and eat fruit snacks together after naps. Sawyer was such a loving and vibrant boy. His hugs were filled with more love than his time. He was able to turn any bad mood around with just a smile, which he used to his advantage for most of his mischievous moments.

Sawyer rarely passed up a time he could climb into his trusty front loader at the Sawmill with his Daddy, or the Kubota to help his Poppy and Grandma Ott with chores at the ranch. Recently, his favorite thing to do was to grab his favorite power tools he received for his birthday and help his Papa Mills with his bathroom remodel. He loved being outside with his trucks and playing in the dirt and rocks, finding anything he could climb up or slide down with no fear, or chasing all the bunnies and birds with his trusty “finger pistols”.

Sawyer was truly a little man beyond his years. He was incredibly quick to pick up new things. He enjoyed ending his busy days soaking in his bathtub and giving his Mommy a shoulder rub so she would be ready for the next crazy day. He had the ability to be lovingly demanding to get his way most/all of the time. He was such a beautiful boy.

Sawyer touched so many lives in the time God blessed us with him. It is hard to put just how amazing he was in so few words. He gave his Mommy and Daddy so much joy every day and taught them so much that they will treasure every second.

Sawyer is survived by his parents Wacey & Audrey (Mills) Ott, brand new baby sister Allison Clare; grandparents David & Gayle Ott, Patrick & Peggy Mills; great-grandparents Eunice Goddard, Robert & Beverly Smith; aunts & uncles Amber (Mike) Tilzey, Shawn (Ava) Ott, Afton (Daniel) Ball, Amelia (Spencer) Farrell; cousins Aiden, Mason, Everett, Jovie, Emmi, Sadee, Lillian, Becca, Ander, Cullen, Baylen, Warner and Kallen and his special 2nd cousin companions Tedi Jo & Grace Goddard (Tyler &Tillie), Keller & Trig Severin (Gary & Hanna).

Sawyer was welcomed into Heaven by those who passed before him great-grandparents John & Eva Ott, Gary Goddard, Tom & Dorothy Mills, Uncle Alex Mills and Cousin Gerard Farrell.

Special thanks go to all who helped in the first moments and days of our loss. Especially to Hanna Severin, Sawyer’s favorite neighbor, and her husband Gary Severin who took over anything and everything to keep things running, as well as Lev Ott and all her time she gave to help any favor asked by Sawyer’s mom. You all are such blessings to have for support.

A celebration of Sawyer’s life will be held at the Reed Point High School football field on Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. Masks are welcome, but not required. Coffee and cookies will follow. A memorial account has been set up in Sawyer’s name at Yellowstone Bank of Columbus, P.O. Box 389 Columbus, MT. 59019.

“Even though everyday seems to become filled with more sorrow due to our loss, our baby boys favorite “daily” movie (The Croods) has reminded us that we all have to follow the light that leads to tomorrow and our tears will dry faster in the sun. Sawyer was such a light, and we are so blessed to be able to hold onto his beautiful memory. We thank you all for your prayers and support.” -Wacey & Audrey Ott
