Obituary for Sharon Lee LaVoy
Sharon Lee Bendt LaVoy passed away in Big Timber, Montana on June 25, 2022.
Mom was born on August 11, 1945 to Lawrence (Lefty) and Cecilia Jacobs Bendt, in Billings Montana. Her dad was an iron worker so she traveled a lot landing her in many different schools. She never liked being "the new kid" but she always prevailed.
She met her love, Roger LaVoy, at a dance in Gann Valley South Dakota. They were married on February 26, 1966 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. After trying out a few places, Mom and Dad bought The Wagon Wheel Bar in Grey Cliff, Montana in 1977. They finally called Big Timber home in 1989.
Mom worked many years at the PMC. She loved her coworkers and cooking for the residents and later took pride in becoming the dietary manager. After an early retirement, Mom worked with a great crew at Pioneer Meats before retiring for good.
Mom was big on family and one of her most treasured times was being the "lunch lady" for all of her school aged grandchildren and their friends. Mom loved crocheting, playing cards with friends and family and mostly feeding people -- friends and family alike and will always be know for her famous fried chicken. Mom was a special lady who touched may lives and hearts.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents and brother Monte.
