Obituary for William E. 'Bill' Miller
William E. (Bill) Miller, 86, of Big Timber, MT passed away at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT on Thursday, Feb. 21, of a heart attack.

Bill was born, along with his twin brother, Joe, on Sep. 11, 1932, to Arthur Miller and Emma Bae Miller in Pelican Rapids, Minn. He grew up in Pelican Rapids, and during his school years, was always eager to help his uncles on the farm or deliver milk because it meant he could skip school.

After graduation from Pelican Rapids High School, he enlisted in the Navy. Much of his military service was spent on the USS Kearsarge. After the Navy, he worked a few odd jobs until he found his life’s calling in ag sales, which he worked in until he retired in 2006.

Bill always loved horses and rodeos. He participated in team roping for many years. He was always going down to the Sweet Grass County Fair Grounds just to see “what was going on” and was always ready to help out if anything needed to be done.

In 1968 when he was married to Kay Sheenwood Lunde, he was also blessed with two wonderful step daughters, Melanie and Mara. Son John joined their family in 1973, and Justin completed their family in 1975. Bill, Kay and the boys moved to Big Timber in 1984. This was home for more than 34 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Emma; his brothers, Arland, Ronald, George and Joe, a baby; and sister Florence. His beloved son John also preceded him as did many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Kay; daughters and their families, Melanie and Wayne Runningen, Mara and Mark Davis; his much loved son Justin; nine grandchildren; two sisters in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
