Obituary for DIANNE BURMEISTER
Dianne States Burmeister entered the Gates of Heaven on April 9, 2015. Dianne was born in Oakland, California on September 30, 1937, to Fredrick Crawford States and Regina Amy Dahl Cox. She was the oldest of three sisters and a step brother. She attended schools in the Oakland area, before marrying Don Burmeister on February 7, 1959. Don took his new bride to Montana, to live on his family's ranch, a lifestyle that she truly embraced and loved. Dianne always joked that, although she lived most of her life in Montana, she was still considered a Californian. Together they raised daughter Deb and son Jim. After they moved off of the ranch, Dianne worked at various jobs, including night shift at Alameda's caf̩, bookkeeper for Farmer's Service, office manager for Farm Bureau Insurance, and dispatcher at Sweet Grass County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of the Big Timber Evangelical Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and director, a long time Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout volunteer, and baseball mom (a sport she truly loved). Not only her son and daughter, but youth of the community as a whole, were an important part of her life. Dianne was Mom to nieces and nephews, as well as many others in her community. Dianne had many creative talents, including seamstress (sewing her own wedding dress), crocheter, painter, crafter, armature genealogist, gifted photographer, and kid's story teller. One of her dreams was to write children's books. She never realized that she did indeed accomplish her dream when she wrote personalized books for her grandchildren and a friend's ill son. She also created verbal stories for her great niece and great grandchildren. Dianne's legacy will live through her daughter, Debra (Wayne) Titeca, son, James (Susan) Burmeister, her grandchildren, Misti, Christina, John, and Britney, great grandchildren, Christian, Marshall, Mason, Tovin, Dakota, Jennifer, and a boy due in September. She is also survived by sister Darlene "Corkie" Douglas, and sister-in-law Marie Hagen, as well as many nieces and nephews. Paving her way to heaven are husband Don, mother Regina, father Fred, step-mom Charolette, sister Dolores, and step-brother Bill.
