Obituary for Alberta 'Bertie' Schott
Bertie Schott passed away at her home on November 14, 2015 at the age of 65. Bertie was born January 4th, 1950 in Columbus, Montana. She was the youngest of eight children born to Chris and Pauline Schott. Bertie grew up on the family ranch just east of Grey Cliff and attended grade school at the rural Grey Cliff Grade School. She then attended and graduated from Sweet Grass County High School. After high school, Bertie started her hairdressing career by attending beauty school in Billings. She did her apprenticeship work in Big Timber for 2 years, and then moved to Billings where she worked for 8 years. She then moved back to Big Timber and bought her own shop, The House of Beauty, where she worked for 30 years until ill health no longer allowed her to work. She truly enjoyed her group of regular customers at The House of Beauty. Bertie enjoyed doing hair, crocheting, embroidering, counted cross stitch, doing word search puzzles, and reading. She also enjoyed working on the ranch. She was proud to help take care of her parents when they grew older and needed help. Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Alvin Schott and Dale Schott, and by sister-in-law Linda (Beck) Schott. She is survived by her sister Jeanette (Carl) Ronneberg of Big Timber, brothers Kenneth Schott and Earl Schott both of Big Timber, Marvin (Ardy) Schott of Billings, and Elmer (Carol) Schott of Bozeman. She is also survived by sister-in-law's Ann Schott of Columbus and Sharon Schott of Billings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday November 20, 2015 at the Big Timber Lutheran Church with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.
